Back to the grind.

Back to the grind. It has been a full week and I am starting to get used to life at work again. I only was out of work three months, so the transition is not too bad, but at the same time I really do miss my freedom of sleeping in or taking an afternoon nap. For three months I was not sleep deprived. It was an incredible experience! I love my sleep a little too much- since that is what I am missing most.
I am still transitioning and MW and I are trying to carpool which is interesting. He arrives earlier and stays later than me, so I am trying to fill time on either end. The morning MW is compromising with arriving a little later and then in the evening I wait… We have a gym near by and I bring a book, so I can entertain myself while I wait for him.
Sam and Bailey are sad to be alone all day again, but seem to be doing just fine. They have each taken ownership of a couch- Bailey sleeps on the leather sofa in the living room and Sam sleeps on the micro fiber couch in the family room. The spoiled dogs don’t even have to be in the same room as each other. So spoiled!!
Over the weekend I picked up some pots and trellis’ for the blackberry bushes. They look great. I will have to get out and get some photos of our new fruit bushes. The blueberry trees are doing well too.

tomorrow is the big day

After three months of unemployment I am going back to work. I accepted a contract job that may become permanent- it is right up my alley and basically what I was doing in NY before I left. I am looking forward to the job, but am also somewhat sad that my days of doing whatever I want all day are ending! I have gotten used to this freedom, so getting back into the grind will be tough. I am sure I will be pretty tired for the next few weeks. I have my fingers crossed that I will like what I am doing...
As most of you readers know, Bailey broke / chipped his hip in May. He seems to be doing much better, but occasionally he shows signs of weakness or pain. The other night after playing a lot of ball he was limping a little bit, and sometimes his leg will give out on the stairs. This morning his leg gave out on the top stair and sadly he fell down the entire flight. I was at the top of the stairs and could do nothing about it. He got right up and walked on, but it breaks my heart that my five year old dog is already showing such signs of aging. He needs to go get x-rays on his hip again to determine if he will have surgery. My guess is yes- once his parents have the money to pay for it. My poor baby. Anyone who knows me well knows how much I love my kids!

Here is my old man... Why do humans taunt animals by dressing them up and taking their picture? Oh yeah, because it is so funny! Check out the beard!

Our Paris room...

Here it is- bright pink and original! The entire border of the room looks like this...
We have a street light- because they have street lights in Paris...
Of course their is the Eiffel Tower...
And no Paris room is complete without the adjoining bathroom having Parisian wall paper!
Why? Who thought of this crazy idea? For now it is funny- all who visit come to stay a night in pink Paris- but eventually visits to Paris will require crossing the ocean and a stay on French soil. So, if you have always wanted to visit Paris sign up now while the tourist attraction is still available. We are booking up quick!
There is one thing missing I just realized- the French Bistro. We have a nice table for two- but it is difficult to get a seat- if you know what I mean.

blueberry bushes e-i-e-i-o

I met a farmer over the weekend who grows / sells blueberry bushes. I love blueberries and instantly wanted to take some home, but I did the right thing and went home empty handed- to measure my space of course! I measured part of our property line and ended up with 11 blueberry bushes to plan along one side of our house. The farmer told us that it is fair to estimate that if taken proper care of in seven years one bush will give us two gallons of blueberries! How fantastic!
The man's farm was amazing. Since I am not exactly a country girl I have not had many experiences on a real farm. We drove in while farmer Jack was giving his grand kids rides on his john deere. There was a farm dog and plenty to look around at. I was in heaven! We made a last minute impulse buy and took home some blackberry bushes as well. They are both in bloom right now, so I am very excited to eat the fruit that is left from this year and am hoping for gallons of blueberries next year!

The Oasis and a few other pics.

I took a few photos of the house to share, but most rooms are not yet ready to be photographed. I should probably take a photo of the pink Paris room to show since it is so very unique - and it will not stay that way forever, but for now here is what I have got:

This is what I refer to as the "outdoor oasis" or the "Sanctuary." We just installed the ceiling fan last weekend. The couch was on clearance from Target and the chairs are from world market (www.worldmarket.com). We got the fountain while in NJ at Home Depot for an absolute steal!

This is photo is taken from the entry way looking into the living room. All of the curtains in the house came with the house and are only there until I find what I really like.

The living room is open to the dining room which was pretty easy to arrange with our furniture. This is the view of the living room from the dining room.

We still have pretty bare walls. I have a few things up and ideas of where to put a lot of other things, but have not yet hung them. I will take some more photos soon of the family room, and Paris!
Did I mention how much fun it is trying to clean this house?

It's official!

I am officially a North Carolinian! I passed the driving test and now have an in state driver's license. Of course the photo is awful and the license is good for 8 years! Lovely.

The camera charger has been located and the battery is charging as I type. I will post photos of my new "outdoor oasis" once the camera is charged!!

What now?

WHY? EVERY TIME I POST A PHOTO I END UP WITH BLANK UN-DELETABLE SPACE!HELP
Since all of the wedding craze is over what do I post? We have been working on the house and I have been working on my golf game. I am still looking for work and am entertaining myself quite well. It is so darn humid here I am hiding in the house today. I just had about 150 photos printed and am planning to start scrap booking. I would like to take some photos to post, but MW leaves everyday with the battery charger for the camera in his car and I keep forgetting to pull it out at night....uggh.

We are well though. The dogs are in heaven here. They love their new house, yard and deck. Sam finally feels like we got a house that she is worthy of! Honestly, it has taken us far too long to please the pretty princess.

One more time...

And we celebrated!!! I have amazing photos on snapfish. I of course am terrible at disguising links so, this is the long link: http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=167241546/a=81391157_26200736/t_=81391157 My camera died in the church. I thought I had charged it ahead of time, but apparently not! Great. Either way the photos on Snapfish are awesome and there are a ton of them. Alicia was a gorgeous bride and getting to see college friends come together again was priceless! What a whirlwind three back to back weddings was. We hit three states in three weekends! It was exhausting, but well worth it. Each wedding was different, but all were beautiful. Last weekend we ended with a traditional New England wedding. The weather was perfect- Next weekend we have no weddings to go to. We have a golf tournament on Saturday afternoon. I am still learning how to play golf, but sometimes (most of the time) I wonder why people play that game! I am getting better, but have a phobia of playing in front of people. Once my camera is charged I will see if any of my church photos are worth uploading.
