| I have been "tagged" to name my five favorite restaurants. I am going to list my favorites in each place that I have lived. Massachusetts- Pizzeria Regina's at the north end! It was a weekly trip as a kid and will always be my favorite pizza. Part of it is the memory the other part is that I LOVE PIZZA. The other favorite Kimball Farm, Westford MA. It started as a barn that served huge home made ice creams and now they serve food too, but really I have only ever eaten the ice cream. This place should be in a tourist book- it is that great! Oklahoma- The snow cone drive thru's!!! Nowhere else have I been able to get one of about 25 flavors of snow cone at a drive thru location. See, Oklahoma is good for something. Germany- Pizzeria Capri, Massbach. I would love a Bayern Salad and penne arrabiatta with some chianti. I have a second for Germany as well, but that is probably because the food is so darn good there! Ladies, the Lowenzaun. Need I say more? New Jersey- Terrazza's, Nutley NJ- great mafia Italian food and the other (I love food too much to pick just one place for each location) The Sushi House, Hoboken NJ North Carolina- I am still searching, but I love Maggiano's. Some of you may know if from your city since there are about ten of them. If you have one near you and you have not been- GO |

Green?
Who termed being enviromentally concious being "green" anyway? Kermit? How do you determine a person who is green. I have been called out on my "lack of greeness" for using disposable toilet bowl cleaners (you know who you are). However, the wand is reusable, it is the sponge that is not. And I have not yet admitted this on my blog, but I love Lysol wipes! Yes, I use them like crazy! But, I do not like papertowels. Hmmmm. So, what does it take to save the earth? I want to know everyone's tricks on keeping mother nature clean and preventing global warming. Here are a few of the things I do:
Those are the things that come to mind right away. I would love to hear other quick thoughts and ideas on other ways to make our natural life a bit better. By the way, I love the MINI and it does pretty well on gas mileage, but that only justifies the Volvo SUV. However, they both do better than a lot of the gas guzzlers on the street. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read: "Save water, shower together." |

Just a quick senseless post
In our whirlwind week to CA ( my first trip) we made a stop in San Francisco. What a neat city! So much fun. I loved the whole green movement that the news and city expressed, but MW banned me from going back to the city because he thinks I am green enough already....
My biggest pet peeve you ask? When people who have curbside pick up recycling do not do it because they are too lazy to sort their recyclables! What the heck is that all about.
And to answer MW's question: Yes we do have to recycle everything possible! : )
It is just another hot day here in NC. I don't think it has rained since we moved in our new house. That was a month ago. It is a little nuts at this point. Every day is hot and sunny. It was great at first, but now we need the rain so badly it is a little scary.
In other exciting news of the unemployed I found that having this big house is a lot to clean. I got the privilege of cleaning 5 toilets today. But, I did discover the disposable toilet bowl cleaners. That is a great invention. Who really wants to save the toilet brush after each use?
Until next time....

Another day...
I have been unemployed for five weeks and until today I have not minded a bit, but when I woke up this morning I lacked direction. I am sure I will be over it in a minute, but finding a job down here looks like it may be a little bit more difficult than expected. I have a prospect to work as a headhunter, but am not sure I am on board with that. Other than that, I am finding Charlotte to be pretty small. I am sure something is going to come up soon since I really did just start searching, but I have never been known to be patient. I think more than anything I am tired of unpacking! Yesterday I unpacked all day- made great progress- but it was just me. MW was at work and then went to play hockey.

Random Photo of the day.
Don't worry- we did see the vineyards. Photos to come.
Update: Bailey is showing signs of improvement. He had a follow up appointment today and we have "options." The number one priority is he heals. He is laying down resting now and looks comfortable. Thank God!

wherever there is a bouncing ball....
There is not a lab far behind.
Last night Bailey was wandering in the yard with his ball in his mouth like he usually does. He must have dropped the ball in the driveway which is on a hill. The ball rolled down the hill and into the street, so Bailey followed it- Right in front of a car! I did not see it happen, and Mark only heard it. The car didn't even stop and Bailey came running home- limping. Today we went to the animal hospital and he had x-rays. He has a chip in his left hip. He may need to have the chip removed since it is completely detached from his hip bone. I will follow up with a vet tomorrow to find out what we need to do. In the mean time he has pain medicine and anti inflammatory medicine and needs to not chase his ball for a while. He can carry his ball around, but needs to rest as much as possible. Pray our baby does not need surgery and he heals back to his happy go running self soon!
Photos of Sonoma will post when I get my home internet. I am back at the in laws for a quick stop and thought I would share Bailey's accident info. If nothing else as therapy for me. The guilty feeling mom.

I know it has been forever- does anyone even read this?
Our Sonoma vacation came and went so fast- I have photos I will post in the next posting. As soon as we got home from Sonoma we sold our house in NJ and flew north to have our things shipped. They are arriving tomorrow. Of course when we got back from NJ I got sick. I am now recovering from a sinus infection.
I would like to continue this blog, but am not sure if I have any readers anymore. If you are taking a look at this write a quick comment so I know if anyone sees what I write.
We don't have internet at home right now, so it is hard to get online. Sometime next week i am expecting to be up and running there and should be able to post more regularly again.
I hope everyone is well.
